About Us

The Meat Market, originally known as Mueller’s Meat Market, was founded by Marv and Gene Mueller. In 1989, the business was acquired by Mike Vold, Mueller’s former lead sausage maker, and Ron Hart, the head meat cutter. Together, they managed the business for 18 years until Ron’s unexpected passing. In 2011, Mike’s oldest daughter, Michelle Brinker, joined the team, followed by her husband, Drew Brinker, who became a lead meat cutter. In March 2014, Mike expanded the business, opening a retail shop in the Wisconsin Dells with assistance from his other son-in-law, Kaleb Becraft. This addition has successfully contributed to the business's growth.

I’m so glad we found this fantastic butcher and market while staying in town. The selection at The Meat Market is spectacular; they offer a high selection of raw meat, pork, and chicken as well as sliced deli meats and cheeses. The store is also well stocked with lots of frozen meat options as well as cheese and smoked meat products. Lots of spice rubs, sauces, and snacks to boot. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They took their time to help us find the items we needed and offered expert recommendations along the way. We’re staying in town for a week and will definitely be back for a second shopping trip to fill up the fridge. I would recommend this place to anyone and would give more than five stars if I could. Go here; you will not be disappointed!

This is the ONLY place I will go to purchase meat. The quality is the best. The place is so clean I joke that you could eat off the floor. Everything is nicely organized. They take their time to wrap and package your meat up for you. The prices are fair due to it being local and you know what you're getting. I appreciate the better quality and you can taste the difference. I also will never leave there without buying beef sticks. They have the best seasoning in them. We grab a package and one for the ride home. I love that the Delton location is open its closer for me to go then all the way on the other side of Baraboo. I can't rave about this place enough.
